After assisting in the Pre-K for a year, I am excited for the opportunity to join Lumen Christi as the new Pre-K teacher. I grew up on the far eastside of Indianapolis and attended public school, which is where I met my husband of 18 years. We have five amazing children that attend Lumen Christi with another blessing due March 2024! Our family attends Holy Rosary parish and enjoys the Latin Mass.
I studied elementary education at IUPUI and applied my knowledge to homeschooling my children for 8 years. During our homeschooling years, we joined Catholic Schoolhouse in Zionsville, where I taught grammar age students for six years. Outside of my time at Catholic Schoolhouse, I spent many years being a “Sunday school” Catechist. I have also enjoyed organizing and participating in other cooperatives that operated inside my home with family and friends. I have recently been trained in the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd, which allows me the opportunity to continue offering this catechesis during our Pre-K class time at Lumen Christi in the beautifully prepared Atrium.
My passion has always been educating and inspiring our youngest. Jesus says in Mark 10:14 “Let the children come to me; do not prevent them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.” My prayer is that I can be a vessel which aids the children in coming to know Jesus, and likewise, the children will aid me along the way to the Kingdom of God. In our classroom we will practice wonder and engage our minds and bodies through excellent literature, exciting games, creative crafts, and nature studies.
